Club History

Images of Newdigate Bowls green and club house

The Club was formed in 1990 as a result of the foresight and endeavours of a few villagers in the late 1980s that created a bowling green from a barren site. Through the efforts of the original members and those that have followed, the Club has continued to develop and flourish.

In 2001, a new clubhouse was built and the adjoining car park (on land donated by neighbours, Ibstock Brick Ltd) was added into the Brocus for use of the Bowls Club. The Club's members maintain the clubhouse, car park and all surrounding hedges. Over the years, the bowling green has been materially improved - again through the work of members, who are responsible for its maintenance - and is now regarded by many as one of the best in Surrey.
